Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered into an embedded search tool is sent to the independent provider that operates the tool. Jackson County Recent Arrests does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy controls its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to answer. We do not share that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine web logs and measurement services may record basic connection and usage details when a page loads. The data can include:
- Your internet protocol address.
- Your browser name and version.
- Your device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies may help measure site use and remember basic preferences. You can block or clear them through your browser, though parts of the site or a partner feature may then work differently.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information supports a limited set of operational purposes.
- Operate the site and maintain useful page speed.
- Send search requests to the selected outside provider.
- Understand which Jackson County resources visitors use.
- Detect errors, abuse, and technical faults.
- Display advertising that may relate to a visitor’s interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to the JCDC occupant search, Sheriff records resources, Missouri Case.net, MODOC, federal locators, or independent search services. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy notice and security practices apply.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on their systems, not ours.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be handled by:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Our Security Approach
We use customary safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet-connected service is fully secure, however, and we cannot promise that a transmission or stored item will never be exposed.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us and request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Ask that eligible personal information be erased.
- Opt out of certain forms of processing where that right applies.
These choices concern data controlled by this site. Missouri public records held by Jackson County or another agency are governed by the custodian and applicable law, including Chapter 610, not by this privacy notice.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as practices or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
